Hello guys. I want to buy new pair of good open headphones. I want them for gaming, music listening (enjoy almost any genre) and sound/movie production (not pro). Now I own audiotechnica ath m50, sennheiser amperior (sold hd 25, and got these bad boys) and sennheiser pc310 (use them only for gaming and voip).

I really like the sound signature of sennheiser HD 25-1. May be there's something like them but in over-the-ear and open/semi open?

PLZ, can you advice something that will meet my requirements?

Yesterday I had an opportunity to try Samson. Didn't like them. So I reviewed what exactly I want from new pair. My budget around 200$. But if there's something really really good - I think I can exceed it a little.

I need a pair of HP that are open/semi open. With wide sound stage and good detailed mids. Without lacking bass (for example ATH m50 has good amount of bass for me) and trebles.

Not sure what the headphone amp is like on your device.

Here's DAC and headphone Out specs

Audio Outputs (D/A)

Sample Rate44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 192 kHz
Bit Resolution16, 24 Bit
ConverterCirrus Logic

Headphone Output

Load Impedance8 - 600 ohms
Maximum Output Level1.67 V eff @ 100 ohms
SNR (weighted)98.2 dB
THD+N (60 Ohms)0.008%
Frequency Response10 - 40000 Hz (-1 dB)

If you can find a pair in your budget range, perhaps the DT990?

Thanx, I will give them a try. What's about akg q701 (I found it used about 120$ in my area) and senn hd600/650 (also around 200$ for used)?

The Q701s probably need more voltage than your headphone amp can provide if you ever intend to crank things up. They are a bit difficult to drive to get them to sound their best. But yeah. $120 seems like a great deal if they are in very good condition. You could always add an amp later if you decide you need more power. :)

I don't understand why r they hard to drive? Impedance is only 62, sens is about 93-97db/mW (depending of converter formula that is used). Almost the same as for 990 pro. So what's the problem?

Well, you could explore this topic more in the Q701 impressions thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/582276/q701-impressions-thread. I imagine their difficulty in being driven has been discussed quite a bit :)
