I did a quick search but couldn't find a recent thread that answered this. Does anyone know of any current DAPs on the market that feature:
  • a user-replaceable battery
  • a decent built-in headphone output voltage that can drive low sensitivity 300 Ohm headphones? e.g. 4V peak to peak
  • take a micro-SD card with music files organised in a simple folder structure (either FAT or exFAT)
I currently have a Fiio X1 2nd gen. that satisfies both last points, but it has a glued-in battery, something I could live with since it only cost $80. I will have to replace it at some point unless I manage to successfully replace the battery, but it also has a few annoying usability quirks, hence ideally looking for something different at some point.

(TBH I'm hoping my DAP will last until the EU user-replaceable battery directive for portable devices comes into force in 2027).

I couldn't find anything currently on the market, but maybe I missed something. But please don't spend any time researching on my behalf, I can do that myself. Just if you happen to know of one already, please mention the make & model here.

Budget is a grey-area; if it is a model that is expected to last many years I am happy to pay up to $1000 or so.

iBasso has recently released two DAPs with user-serviceable batteries: the DX180 and the DX260.

Thanks; I will check them out!

EDIT: just checked their specs, on paper they do seem to tick all the boxes, thanks!

Hopefully this will indicate a trend towards the return of user-replaceable batteries for these devices.
