Okay, im not 100% sure this belongs here, but it was my best shot. Im building USB chargers in altoid tins, now theres nothing revolutionary here, but Ive came up with a few things. I'm using 4 AA batteries instead of 9V's as i believe this will give longer life, I'm also using an on off switch (little metal dim switches) and a small light. Now Ive been looking this up for a while, and it seems the iPod needs 5V's I figured this was pretty standard. While i had my Zen touch i tried out my battery charger on it, no go.. ( i no longer have my zen to test on, nor any DAP at the moment for that matter) I used a multimeter (of course!) and it checked out at 5.01 V's I'm not sure why it didn't work, I'm assuming the zen touch uses a different amount of voltage. It didn't harm the player either, so there was no adverse affects of any kind. What i need to know, is what voltage do i need to use on these players:

iAudio X5
iPod Mini/Photo/4th gen (5V?)
Zen xtra/touch/micro

And any other "mainstream" players. Thanks.
