I've been looking into buying a DAP. A&K just announced the KANN Alpha and I'm considering buying that.

What are some other alternatives at that price point?

Depends on what you want from the dap.. Also the sound it delivers. If you want the 3 different headphone outputs, maybe look at the Shanling M6 Pro.

As some other user said depends if you want
Streaming or local files only
Different headphone outputs
If you plan to drive full size cans vs IEMs
If you want long battery life or not
With internal storage or agnostic *all in micro SD card)
If you want it stationary or a mini DAP. E.g sony DMP-Z1/ibasso max vs M0
And many more like if the support cue or DSD-ISO

I'm mainly going to use the DAP with IEMs, the CA Solaris right now, probably EE Odins later on down the road. I'm considering the KANN Alpha because of its versatility. I'm currently using a Fiio Q5s as my portable setup, but I don't want to have to rely on my phone as my source over BT all the time. It would be nice to have a DAP for local playback as well as streaming.

AK SE200 has dual DACs/amp stages letting you pick a sound signature over the other. It's also smaller than the Kann Alpha so you don't look like carrying a huge brick on the go
