Hey everyone! just want to start off by saying that im not extremely knowledgable when it comes to headphone gear so any help would be appreciated

I own 3 pairs of earphones that matter: ie 80, dunu dn2002, gr07

ive been using them on my iphone 6 with spotify at extreme quality. Today I went to a shop and the guy recommended that I get a dap. I had a go at one which was way out my price range and boy did it sound so much better. The dude said that they didnt have anything below the 300 usd mark "that was worth buying" and told me to find a FiiO x5 v3. the only disadvantage of me getting a dap is that I lose the convenience of spotify. I then found somewhere on headfi that at that value it might be better to get a dac+amp which sounds good.

How can I further improve my setup? with a dap or dac+amp?
And which models would be good?

There are DAP's that support Spotify. But bare in mind that Spotify's extreme quality is .mp3 @ 320Kbps for premium subscribers.

Having said that, and if Spotify is your go to "music source/library" in my opinion, you would be better of with a Amp/Dac.

Something like the Fiio E18 for around $100, or the OPPO HA2, but that's around 3 big ones
