Sitting here, it's 6 am (insomniac), reading about possible amp upgrades to replace my Little Dot Micro Tube, and sure enough, I impulsively bid on a 336i on eBay. Plus I'm already looking for a new set of cans. But it's OK, after I get my new cans and amp I'm sure I'll never have to upgrade again...right? I've spent more money on equipment than actual music since joining head-fi, somebody help me!

There is no cure............ Just make sure to stay away from the electrostatic stuff, otherwise you will find yourself selling unnecessary organs (kidney, liver) to fund your addiction.

Before this site I was happy with the cheap-o earbuds that came with my Creative mp3 player. Then when I lost the fuzzie things, I used that as an excuse to buy some PX100's. A few hundred dollars later, here I am. But seriously though, will I be happy(er) with the 336i? Or rather, is it better than the LDMT enough to justify the cost. After I sell the LDMT, I'm only out $80, so it's not that much.

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be getting some DT880's. I also heard and liked the 701's, but the lack of bass killed them for me. Do you think the 336i would give the 701's enough bass that I might enjoy them?

I don't think a good amp changes them significantly. They'll sound better, but their sound signature will remain very similar.

Get a pair of Darth Beyers if you like bass

I've only heard the AKG K340 through the DV.

I think that ATH-A900LTD or DT770-600 are better than the above headphones in the bass department.
