DACPORT + HD800S/AUDEZE LCD-2 THOUGHTS?

I'm the process of selling LCD-2s, after having purchased HD800s. They both sound pretty good through my LYR, but through the DACPORT there is a huge gap between them. This is not meant to be a thread comparing the two phones because there are a million of those. However, just wondering if someone could explain the reason in practical electrical terms why I feel the Dacport did a decent job with my Audeze's but sounds horrible through my HD800s? 
 
I'm open to any thoughts or explanations, even if they include you thinking I'm nuts.
