Hello,

I have a question please. I hope you can help me.
I have the Schiit amp +DAC stack Modi + Magni plugged to my PC. I was wondering if there is anyway to adjust the sound like with the AVR from my TV where I can change the sound to Jazz, Rock, Pop, classical etc.... or adjust the mids, trebles and bass individually.
Is there a software I can use? Is there a point in doing this?

Thank you very much

Yes, it's called an equalizer or EQ. The jazz, rock, pop, classical, etc. settings are preset EQ options, and mids, trebble, bass are adjustable ones. Most media players will have some sort of EQ option. If you want EQ on everything, not just your media player software, you can use Equalizer APO.

  Great!
Thank you very much. Do you recommend using one?

if you're looking to make it sound the way you want to, then sure why not.  this hobby should be fun -- do what makes you happy.  of course, you could be changing the way the artist/engineer intended it to sound.

if you're trying to use dsp to counter the effects of your room and optimize the output of your speakers, then you'll need to be a bit more methodical.  you can use tools like REW and acourate to do that and put the filters you designed into your player.

jriver is a great player and has the ability to either let you adjust things manually or use filters created in REW or acourate.
