I'm looking for a DAC that meets the following requirements;
I thought the Matrix Mini would be perfect, as long as the volume control affects the line out as well as the headphone out, but then noticed that the USB input is capped to 48KHz.
The HLLY DMK-IV definitely has the volume control I need (separate pre outputs), but doesn't have balanced outputs & I can't tell if the USB is still limited to 48KHz?
Recommendations? I just sold an old laptop for £250 so that's my ideal budget.
- USB input for my computer, capable of >48KHz
- optical input for my PS3
- volume control/pre-amp to control the volume of the output
- balanced output on XLR a bonus
