I was wondering if anybody knew of a good budget dac that would pair well with my little dot I+?

I don't mind what size it as long as it's not too big since i'll be switching from room to room every now and then (I have 2 rooms side by side that're separated by a door).

I'll be using a PC so USB is preferred, since i don't know if using onboard toslink/spdif would be any good.

I have around $160 - $170 US to spend but am in AUS so shipping usually costs more for me. I have a pair of ad900s at the moment but will be opting for one of the SR series Grados.

Any advice or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I say go for a fubar II...or save a bit and go for super pro 707 Usb dac...but fubar is a bit better

and yes you will definitely enjoy more the LDI+ with grado...

may I suggest you to buy the LT1364 opamp (15$ shipped). the improved sound is very nice.

Dave from HotAudio makes a few nice DACs that would work for you. I've since upgraded, but for a while my setup consisted of a HotAudio DAC Supreme feeding a Little Dot I+. I felt it was a great entry level setup. Dave's prices have even come down a bit since I purchased making them an even better deal.
