Hi I'm looking for a dac , I usually play FPS , few time watching Films or Tv Series


my budget is 150-200$ and I have AKG K7XX and magni 3

so what do you recommend ?

I don't have money for Bifrost used , I just check ebay starting 225 $ and the shipping 41 $
what about Modi2 ?

Modi 2 Uber is a great DAC for the money. Though I'd also be looking towards Topping in that price bracket as their sabre based DAC would excel in gaming vs the 4490 with its 'bloom' used in the Modi 2 Uber.

Hey jeff, for your budget I would simply stick to the basics. You can get a Grace SDAC + Objective2 combo unit for well within your price range. It has a measured/guaranteed dynamic range of over 100dB and anything better will cost easily above $400+. You could simply stick with this device forever if you don't get any upgrade nervosa, it's that good.

You could always try the Fiio A5, it's $130, has a bass boost switch which is good for hearing them footsteps in FPS and on the plus side, it's portable.

Footsteps do not have any bass lol, it will only make gunshots more pronounced. Might be fun for movies though.

Hey no problem : p just my experience with bass boost and games. Footsteps are really soft sounds, gunshots will overwhelm everything else when boosted.
