DAC/Amp For Gaming And Music

I've never heard of any headphones tackling the 5.1/7.1 spectrum effectively (I'm not sure if spectrum is the right word), even professional gameplayers never bother with them.
 
I'd but the Astro amp and call it a day since you're going to use it for gaming mostly.

The Astro Mixamp is Dolby Headphone certified and wil convert any coax/toslink fed signal into virtual surround. Any stereo headset can be used with this amp.
 
I use the Mixamp and Senn pc360 for my gaming, ant it i superb! (Online Bad company 2)
