Hi,

This is my second ever post. Thank you all so much for posting such rich content. Almost every question I have has already been answered.

For a new project (my desk at work), I'm going to use Ether C 1.1 (non-flow) cans with the stock (balanced) cable. I love the sound of my Eitr / Modi 3 / Magni stack with my LCD-XCs at home, so I'm thinking of Schiit.

I need a single-unit DAC/Amp with a relatively small footprint. My source is USB.

The Jotty seems perfect since it's got XLR out. I need help with two things.
  1. Balanced or Multi DAC card?
  2. What other DAC / Amp units should I consider under $600?
Thanks,
John

schiit lyr 3....with warm tube if you looking for a closer sound to LCD. the LCD XC are warmth sounding headset you will not like the Ether C at first if you are looking for a bassy headset with warm sound.

Well just had the Jotunheim with Multibit dac option in my house on loan from Schiit for a meet I held and also a Lyr3 as well with standard dac and would choose the Jot for sure with my Ether-C 1.1 non flow. Could have been the tube I don’t know but just seemed a bit congested to me and the Jot has a bit of warmth that I did like with the C’s as I do like them with my Cavalli Liquid Carbon and Amps and Sound Kenzie. The Massdrop Cavalli Liquid Carbon X +Sdac is another to consider as a person at my meet owns a Massdrop Liquid Carbon and heard my original and was listening from his HE-500’s and think they are very close but not a true a/b .
