Well the time has come again for another set of headphones. These two headphones seem reasonable to be use as my portable ones. I like the two and know both of their weeknesses and want people's opinion would be better. I listen to alot of rock, rap, ska, and some blues. I have some Shure E3 and Sony CD780, which one would provide a "different sound" from the ones that I have already. Well thanks for all the help. I hope to make this my last upgrade for headphones for a while.

I think most people prefer the V6 but personally I found the D66 a lot more enjoyable (and comfortable, even with V6 beyer pads)

I love my Sony V6's with my IHP 120. Plenty of power to drive them, and I even use the line out (un-amped) which gives the bass more punch, and gives the music more depth overall. I've tried the Eggos with it, and all I can say is that I'm NOT a fan of the Eggo..highly over rated IMO. They sound anemic to me, and are far to open for my taste..I live in NYC, so I prefer a bit of a closed phone, and the V6's are perfect in that regard. For the money the Eggos cost, the Koss KSC 35's kick its ass all over the place. (Or even the Porta Pros for that matter)

Some people say that the detail with the Eggos is a good enough reason to make the purchase, but IMO, somed may mistake an abundance of a certain frequency for detail...They're naturally bright cans, and even though I like bright, I think they're far less neutral than the V6's. (Not that the 6's can be considered neutral really).
