I'm thinking about replacing my crappy earbud that died on me a week ago. But this time, I'm planning to spend around $80 to give my ear a treat. A friend of mine was suggesting me to try sennheiser brand on the ground that it produces one of the best sounding earbuds in the market. After spending some time on the internet, I came down to these two brands which falls within my price limit; One is $60(300-ii) and the other is $80(400-ii). My question to audio gurus out in this forum is, does one sound noticeably better than the other? Is CX400-II $20 extra worth the pay? I've searched through the net and couldn't find any comparison regarding to these two models. I'm much appreciated if anyone of you can tell me the difference.

Well the CX300-ii's are around $110 Canadian at "The Source" stores which are in most medium or larger cities up here.

erm just going with a rough guess, try nuforce on amazon us, they will ship to canada the ne-7 goes for about us$50 and should be ebtter than those two you mention.

im guessing you want something quite bassy as u mentioned the cx300 and 400

Actually, amazon.com doesn't ship to canada anymore. I've tried to buy items from it over the past few months and I've been getting "This item does not ship to you location" message all the time. Frankly, I have cx300-ii in my hands for few hours now. I bought it with cdn$125(including tax) from local shop along with other brands(Skullcandy FMJ, JVC MICRO HD, PANASONIC RPHJ300K). And I have compared them against cx300-ii. I don't know how to describe the difference exactly as I'm not an audiophile as well as non native speaker but to put it in simple, cx300-ii not only have more define bass but also produce rich sound than the rest of the earbuds. It outperforms Panasonic which covers huge frequency range(6hz-25khz)(if that means anything).I really like cx300-ii but it would be stupid of me to keep it with that price when I know I can get it with the fraction of that price at online shops. With that price, I could even get cx400-ii(shipped) from earphonesolutions and I'll have $20 bucks left in hand after that.

I don't know "The Source" has it or not. I bought it from FS with CDN$125(including tax).

right, i know amazon wont ship everything but the nuforce ships from nuforce themselves they just use amazon marketplace and a midle man so i believe they will ship to canada, i know they ship to the uk.

for the cx300 thats an abusive price, abusive and insane price. really have a look at the the NE-7 it gets a ton of love, the cx300 is fine if your just after lots of bass for about $20 but for that price dear god no

Thanks Mark. I'll give amazon one more chance. Anyway, one more question, how does klipsch custom 2 stack up to cx300ii and nuforce in terms of sound quality? I'm also considering klipsch as it on sale for USD$79+free shipping.

custom 2 and cx300 live on different planets

the dont compare in any way apart from they both make noise, the custom 2 is good for the money but it wont have the same bass impact you may be used to. armature earphones can be quite different from low end dynamics but when u get used to it the low end is quite good on them
