Thanks for your response. I'm not a woodworker either, but I am good with my hands. I haven't attempted a small scale project like this before so any help I can get is appreciated.

If anyone knows a guide on how to make wooden cups for any headphones, please feel free to post it. I'm interested in expanding my collection to include headphones like the Denon D2k and Fostex TR 50P, Brainwavez HM5, etc and would like to know the skills needed to make these cups to save some $$$ on my part. I've looked online and custom wood cups cost as much as the headphones itself, if not more.

Here's a Fostex Woody Tutorial put together by @fleasbaby

I've made many tone-wood cups for Grado headphones but not Hifiman

That doc is a touch incomplete, but feel free to use it. I have since moved on to doing my Fostex and Grado woodies entirely on a lathe. Would be glad to chat about it....feel free to shoot me a PM.

So far I have done a Darth Beyer knock-off using the Superlux Beyer DT770 rip-offs, and a good amount of Fostex T50rp and Grado builds...
