Hi,

Do any headfiers know of anyone or an outfit I can contact to make a high quality custom DB25-->RCA (female) connector?

I just recently bought the Lynx L22 (sounds fantastic, but my only other comparison is with my 7 years old Sony DVD7700!) but the Lynx DB25 output connectors look pretty flimsy, and in addition, I had to buy the Balance Neutrik-sytle-->Unbalanced RCA adaptors since my tube integrated amp doesn't support balanced.

Anyhoo, I bought a DB25 male-male adaptor, solder iron, cut open my straightwire interconnects, then realized I ain't no DIYer that's for sure.

If anyone knows someone who can make a high quality DB25-RCA female based on the Lynx L22 DB25 pinout instructions, or have one handy they can sell me, let me know. If that fails, then a DB25-RCA Male is fine, although having an RCA male will inhibit the expensive habit of cable tweaking

Thanks for looking!

Why did you get DB25 male to male adapter? You would buy just plain DB25 male plug (with open end) and solder wires to RCA female plug, following pinout assignment on your L22 manual.

Also, if you were going to make the above, why did you cut open your straightwire IC? You may be confused by the braid shield on the IC, but there are clear pictures of how to hook up "signal" "return" and "shield" of interconnect to DB25 pins..

Hi Jon L,

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that the DB25 plugs come with open ends...just saw some pictures on the internet.

That's why I bought the male/male adaptors, thinking that you'd solder the male pins to the IC, and boy, those pins are pretty tight so there was no way I'd be able to do that!

Doh. Let me check into the DB25 open plugs!
