Hi I have an S8+ and use a Sony PHA-1A without any problems. I am sure there are lots of other newer models that will work the same way. However the key is that you need a USB-C to Micro-B cable to go from your phone to the DAC/AMP. I bought the one I am linking below and it works perfectly without the need for any additional apps or anything.
