I have a TI 89 and i was wondering if anyone knows how i can put cubed root in?

^3(root)

if it is anything like my Ti-83 plus, you have to press math, then 4, which gives you cubed root. Or, you can use 5, which allows you to take the root of any number - ie 4th root, 8th root...

alternatively, something that may may it much much easier for you one day, is to just use exponents. sqrt(x) is the same as x^(1/2)

so cubed root is (x)^(1/3)

i have one also

just raise something to the 1/3 power
the only reason square root even has a special function is because it's used alot.

(27)^(1/3)
for instance.

for istance 2^(1/2) * 2^(1/2) is 2^1

it's derived from the fact you can add and substract exponents during multiplication and division respectively of same base 2 here.

It becomes real useful during induction proofs ; )
