Reshuffle time. Trying to keep the ranks somewhat normally distributed and have been seeing some ranks getting skewed towards the positive or negative side.

I hope you get to listen to the 3 new Sony IEMs soon. It's getting a lot of hype right now, especially the IER-Z1R, but I've owned several IEMs on your list and your analysis for them is spot on so I'd like to see how you grade them.

Woot, Bravado goes up. I knew it couldn’t be a B-. B sounds about right if judging by technical ability. It’s a darn fun IEM though like the Atlas.

On most CIEM 2-pin cables, the + is on the side nearer to the top of the iem, and the ground or - is on the side towards the bottom of the faceplate.

For UE SL iems, the polarity is reversed. The + is on the side nearer to the bottom of the faceplate and the -/ground is on the side nearer to the top of the iem.

The only concern, and very theorical concern, is about the absolute polarity.

But if the 2 canal are connected in the same way both, it's ok.

Its interesting to note none of the IEMs in crinacle's Tier S are hybrids, and aside from a few most generally feature 6BAs or more. It'll be fun to see which is the first hybrid or single DD to make it into the top bracket.

Well if the recent hype is to be believed, then maybe the Sony IER-Z1R might have a shot :)

Never was a Sony believer until I owned the EX1000 and MDR7550. If they improved on those two models in SQ, the hype is to be believed.

How can Earsonics sound dull and lifeless and still be B+?

Haven’t heard the Z1R (or the M9, though it’s available here), but the M7 has been getting really mixed reviews locally. It’s been a while since I listened to it, but I didn’t think it was anything special.

The secondhand prices for both the M7 and M9 tanked pretty hard as well (<$500, <$900), though I can’t say whether that’s because of the IEMs or the used market in general.

The SB7's been getting alot of good points lately, got me wondering how it sounds... Wish there was one locally to audition :frowning2:

A beautiful thick audiophile looking cable + a very funny strange looking long uncomfortable IEM. All in all looks a bit DIY  Sounds quite bright and harsh. I preferred SB5. Where to listen to? On the next Canjam maybe.
