My friend has picked up a Creek OBH-21SE.

Have a question to ask on his behalf.

He can hear some background noise, that sounds like a 'hiss'. It appears to be constant and doesn't really vary with volume.

The hiss is still there, even without a source connected. Is this normal?

Headphones are Grado SR80e.

He is enjoying the amp and all is functioning fine.

Some updates from my friend.

He notice the hiss is louder on the left channel. All is the same also on headphone socket number 2.

This has nothing to do with source. Same thing as typed above happens, without source connected.

However, the unit works fine.

What the hell is going on??
