Yes it will. The only reason to re-encode for the ZVM is that you can reduce resolution to 320x240 (since anything more won't look any better on the player's screen) and thus reduce filesize, but if you don't mind the larger file the high-res version will play just fine on the ZVM.

Any time I have had a problem with a file reading on my ZVM, I just run it through Alltoavi to either change the video encoding or audio encoding. The program works well and pretty much converts any video format you can throw at it to DivX, AVI, or XVID.
