creative zen vision:m

hi i was wondering if anyone who owns a creative zen vision:m could answer this question for me: can u play an .avi file that is say 608x256? meaning would it resize itself to the vision:m's 320x240 screen? thanks

It most certainly should. I didn't have to resize any of my video files to view them on my ZVM.

Yes it will. The only reason to re-encode for the ZVM is that you can reduce resolution to 320x240 (since anything more won't look any better on the player's screen) and thus reduce filesize, but if you don't mind the larger file the high-res version will play just fine on the ZVM.

My Vision m can be quite choosey about what it plays.. i have downloaded quite a few losts etc that wont play and make sure they dont have ac3 audio!

Any time I have had a problem with a file reading on my ZVM, I just run it through Alltoavi to either change the video encoding or audio encoding. The program works well and pretty much converts any video format you can throw at it to DivX, AVI, or XVID.
