Creative Zen Sleek Photo

Hey guy, I just bought a zen sleek and heard it has a LOD. Wondering if anyone knew the pin-outs or is it the same as the ZVM? Rumors say that its the same as the IPOD..

any insights?

have you checked epizenter.net? They are a huge Creative player fan forum, and might have some clues. The Sleek/Sleek Photo section is under the old Zen subsection in the forums

I'm pretty sure the pinout is different between the Sleek and ZVM models. I looked into this about a year ago wanting to build myself a LOD for my Sleek. One of our sponsors, Qables, was trying to help me source a connector and then started selling one for the ZVM. But after doing some digging, I found out for some stupid reason, Creative changed the pinout between the two DAPs. I never found a source for a Sleek connector.

Now, this was a year ago so maybe you'll have better luck. I remember Creative never put out a lot of accessories for the Sleek and it was awfully difficult to get a dock for it (never seemed to be in stock). The more readily available accessories that involve a connector, the better your chances of sourcing a separate connector. Otherwise, I wouldn't be too optimistic.

"I have the dock at work. I like it because I am not plugging into the head phone slot on top of unit to my table radio. Also, you can use the vision m adapter. the remote however I have no eed for."

sounds like the vision m might work?

nothing in the intraweb works! lol. had to do it ol'school with a ohm meter, volt meter and my good old ears.

SUCCESS!! I have created my own Zen Sleek LOD
=) it sounds niiiice. Maybe cuz I used silver wire ^_^

definetly! I only found the line outs.
plug the plug into your zen, and flip it so its back side up.
counting from the back.

From the left, 3 - Left 4 - Right
From the right, 2 - Ground

Thats all folks, just find a ipod dock connector and repin it.
That simple.
