Creative Zen management s/w alternatives?

My wife just got a Zen (sorry, don't know what model, very small, 16 gig) and she hates the music management, which seems like a Zen version of Windows Explorer - says it's nowhere near as flexible or friendly as iTunes. I know little about these things though I'm planning to get a DAP myself - I know Media Monkey is widely recommended as alternative software, and I believe Rockbox too though these are not the same kinds of thing I know - but neither seems suitable for the Zen. Is there a better, readily available software for the Zen? She wants to organise playlists, sort music in various ways (track title, artist, genre etc) as and when... Help appreciated!

I think notmad explorer is still going around for the zen's, but unfortunately it isn't free. There's probably still a trial version available at
