I'm currently working on my next build, and I'm not sure which setup is better for me.

I have a 600Ohm headphone, so I can either get an ST or get a titanium HD paired with a fiio e9

I use my computer primarily for gaming, but listen to music a lot, as well as some movies.

Will I be able to hook up 2.1 surround and eventually a 5.1 receiver or some z5500's via the TOSLINK in the future? 

Which setup will give better general audio results?

Also, do you guys feel the amp on the ST is adequate to power some 600ohm 990's?
