does anyone have it, is it a good alternative to the $100+ usb dacs?

Yes I had it and then I moved to SB Live 24bit External,
SB MP3+ is n't worth at all compare to Live 24bit External , it has very poor drive capability to headphone and less SNR , the two advantages that I found in it is that opyical-in and out and the second advantage is that it work uder Microsoft Windows XP with driver installation but without applications.

I recommand to go with USB SB Live 24-Bit external at affordable price.
