To those who have the EP-630's ($35) ... does it take awhile to burn-in? I've been listening to it for the past few days or so and am a bit disappointed at the muddiness (not particularly bright sounding) and lack of detail. Isolation and bass are the upsides. My comparison are a pair of Sony MDR-E828LP Fontopia's ($15) which I've been using for more than a year now. They (Fontopia's) certainly sound more bright and with detail (could that be because of burn-in?) with adequate bass, though lacking isolation (since they're earbuds). No hiss as well from the Fontopias whereas I get a moderate amount of hiss off of the EP-630's coming from my laptop headphone jack. I think I'm particularly disappointed how the EP-630's are handling voices so far ... again a bit blurry and though not necessarily in the background, voices certainly don't project forward like I think they should.

Comments? Should I simply listen to them more? Can I expect the sound to change? Am I just too accustomed to my Fontopia's sound signature?

I see very little talk about the Sony MDR-E828LP Fontopia's so I have no idea in what kind of status they have here at H-F.

I have owned those MDRE828LP earbuds, and they are terrible. They aren't even worth their Wally World asking price of $8. No bass extension or bass impact is present. Mids are honky, and highs are shrilling bright with little detail. In fact, they are nothing different from Apple's iBuds in terms of sound quality.

How long did you own / listen to them? I don't really remember how they sounded when I first got them, but they certainly sound decent after 1+ years of use. I'm wondering if the usage has made the sound this much better than before.

I've owned them for a year and a half and they still don't sound good.
