I have Sennheiser HD600's myself, but I'm looking for a cheap pair of cans as a secondary pair. If i slap on these from Creative, am i going to find them truly awful compared to what i'm used to, or will i be pleasantly surprised? I have no experience of low end headphones over the last 10-15 years really.
 
I guess what I'm asking is, when people recommend these as being "decent for the money", how far away from cans like the HD600's, etc, are they really? I am not expecting them to match, that would be silly. Just curious before i grab a pair if they are going to be almost unbearable to someone who is used to higher end stuff.
 
Also, saying all the above, are there others in that price range that I should heavily consider?

still hoping for some opinions on this subject from those who have high end stuff, but have tried lower end too.

Cals are highly rated here. Fostex made...same as denon 1001.
I think problem will be if teh soundsignature fits your taste.
