Well I didn't apply because I am applying for the fall semester and they only just started accepting the fall admissions 1-2 months ago and I still have some time to get it in (still need a letter of recommendation from my teacher).

Plus I might do community college first

OP,
FYI - Making a lot of money doesn't go hand-in-hand with going to college.

No, but going to college correlates strongly with earning more over your lifetime.

Dude, what are you talking about? The application deadline is usually in like January or February for fall semester. Schools have already completed the entire admissions process. I hate to break it to you but you missed the boat by a few months.

Plus, if you have any shot of getting into Columbia, why are you considering community college?

Aside from all the admission issues, in no way, shape, or form do you have to decide what you want to do until at least after your first couple of years (unless you're premed or engineering). Just go to school, take classes you like, and then decide what to do. Your personality and interests will likely change during college; it's stupid (usually) to set your heart on a path in life before even experiencing everything you undoubtedly will in college, including things that will change who you are. You're over thinking this.

Go to college. Just go. It doesn't matter if you don't know what you're going to do, you'll be better able to figure it out there.

I think you're too late for fall admissions, but might be able to catch spring at some schools. Until then, go register at your local community college and start taking your GE classes. Then go to a four year ASAP.

Yea it was.

So I guess I am going to community college first to do my gen ed classes and then go for the spring of '08. And that's fine with me and will probably save me some money doing my gen ed classes at COD (college of DuPage).

EDIT: what the guy above me said

EDIT 2: and I have to have a general idea of what I want to do because that's the difference between an art school and a "normal college". I can transfer i guess but that would be wasteful imo.
