Hi,

I'm going to be getting a Cowon S9. So far I've been using a Creative MuVo with an Shure E2C. Can't say that I was impressed with the E2C SQ (felt it was flat and dry) but it provided great Noise Isolation. But unfortunately its cable cracked and it doesn't work anymore. I'm looking for something more durable this time (or atleast less pricey). Given that the UE Super.fi 3 has  a detachable cable and Noise Isolating, I thought I'd get that. But then reading on the S9 I understand that its got exceptional tweakability in terms of EQs.  So I guess I need an IEM that'll be able to repro what the S9 delivers without furthur distorting it in any way. My budget is around $100, I'm looking for something that is durable as well
or has detachable cables.

How does the Super.fi 3 pair up with the S9?
I've also been reading up on Jay's D-Jays and
Panasonic RP-HJE 900

I listen to all kinds of music: from the classical end to punchy ones with a lot of beats as well.

Reading some old review it sounded like the Panasonic is a great IEM for the S9 but they also seem to note that the Noise Isolation is poor. I mostly listen during commute, Train or many time with friends in a car with the car stereo playing something different and I just pop in the E2C, I notice I can still hear the music in the car, but once I play the MuVo at a moderate volume, I can't hear the car's music. So Isolation upto that level is important for me. Suggestions on other phones are welcome.

Thanks.

Noise isolation with the HJE900 is not poor. It is average.
I'll quote Joker from his review: "Isolation (3.5/5) – Good for a dynamic-driver IEM"

If you see the Panasonic for 100 $ anywhere, then go for it!

Thanks for the info. I've tried a creative EP360 and I think its level of Noise Isolation will do. Will the Panasonic match it?

Now that you mention the price, I see two in Amazon. One being a preorder and more than $200. Whats the difference?

I've only had the Sennheiser CX-500 for a short time and I think it did isolate a little bit better than the Panasonic. Not too sure, though.

The picture is wrong, but it's the same. 249 $ is the retail price.
