I am having difficulties setting up my S4's and my Cowon J3.. I cant exactly get the sound i want. i am new to the whole JetEffect 3.0 Equalizer. since i am a former user of the iPod. I listen to mainly just Alt. Rock, Metal, Punk etc. bands like RHCP, to Rammstein. Im trying to get a really balanced sound. I want to be able to hear every instrument clearly. From the bass to the vocals. Its hard since something always seems overpowering. i.e The bass is very strong and you cant really hear its tone, while the treble sounds good. Or the instrumental part sounds really balanced but the vocals are lacking. I am really new to the Cowon j3 and I don't really understand the purposes of the BBE and the MP enhance, 3D etc. Help!

And to list a few example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCml8Th66mM when the bass comes in in the verses its sort of very booming and i cant really hear this guy doing his slapping. guess lacking mid range.

I know it is ridiculous at points.. but if you can give me any tips, that would be appreciated. I experimented several times. struggling a lot, gotta change the eq everytime i listen, again and again.

I don't have a S4, but it seems like S4 has reputation for being bass-heavy, so what you're hearing is probably not due to your J3, but your phone.

Perhaps you may want to ask round for a phone that fits your taste better?

I've got a J3 also and the Jet Effect can be a little overwhelming at first.
The easiest way to learn what each thing does is to set everything to zero and adjust one thing to max and see what happens etc..

Also when doing this with the EQ set the band to narrow and you'll be able to match a frequency number to the type of sounds in that range.

Hopee that helps :)
