+ 100 on the Trinity Sessions.

Recorded in a wonderful acoustic space, with a limited number of vintage tube mics to take advantage of the space, from what I recall reading. Gorgeous, languid...reverb decay so rich you could slice it with a knife and serve on toast. It's in my stack for another listen real soon.

The soundstage depth reminds me of those infinity mirrors that were popular back in my younger daze...

The natural chorus/reverb effect of the venue is sublime!
Close your eyes and you are there

I just picked this up in vinyl. I haven't given it a listen yet. I love the cd. Hopefully the vinyl will be even better. I discovered the CJs recently thanks to grawk.

The Trinity Session has been one of my favorite CDs for years, and I still listen to it as much or more than any I own. One of my friends actually bought me a Misguided Angel hoodie a couple years back. I've had a chance to see them live a couple times in a small theater in West Palm Beach before a hurricane wiped it out a couple years ago. Always good. Open is also one of my favorites of theirs. Check it out.

I've had "Open" for a few years and yes it is another good pick! I always heard people talking about "The Trinity Sessions" but never picked it up until now...

Back to Open...
The drumwork and guitar intro into "Dragging Hooks" throws a DEEP soundstage.

Very dark work though, gotta be in the right mood to listen to it.

If you love that you should also check out " Whites off earth now ". Glendale viper put me onto the MFSL version a couple of months back and it is amazing.

Love the striped down way the cowboy junkies record there tunes.
