I've read on this board many people comparing in sound the Cosmic to the Maxed Out Home. However, looking at the photograhs of the circuit boards on the Headroom site, the Cosmic (with base station) seems to be closer in design to the Home (left and right channels are not split, single power supply).

Also, the major difference between the Max and the Maxed Out Home appears to be the transformers used. The board layout is nearly identical. Other than the transformer, the design of the power supplies seems to be very similar.

Can any Max owner tell me the part-number of the Avel-Lindberg toroidal transformers used in the Max?

I'm thinking of replacing the transformer in my Cosmic Base Station One.

This belongs in either the Headroom Forum or DIY Forum. I've moved it to DIY, as mods to a commercial product are sometimes frowned upon by the manufacturer.
