I just picked up a copy of Andrew Manze playing the complete Corelli Violin Sonatas, Op 5 on Harmonia Mundi. This is a fairly new recording with just him and a harpsichord. The sound quality is very good but more importantly the playing is out of this world. I've never heard them played this way. Its more free-form or improvisational or something. With just the two of them playing they are able to kind of branch out and they communicate well with each other. If anybody is into baroque violin I highly recommend this 2 disc set.

Andrew plays a baroque style violin with gut strings so the sound is different than modern violins. It sounds perfect with these pieces. Check it out!
