ok so i totally got screwed over by my cordless phone, i was on an overseas phone interview for a potentially lucrative job offer when the batteries ran out on my crappy GE (15 minutes from full charge after leaving the charging dock), so i tried calling the lady back on my cellphone, but since cingular merged with AT&T reception in my house is almost non existent, so i had to run right across the street, where ironically, there's a cingular store, and by the time i got back to the lady, i find out shes out of her office, keep in mind it has been only less than 2 months since i bought the GE and the batteries has begun to crap out, granted this was an el cheapo that i bought from an AVS pharmacy but it was to replace a relatively pricey panasonic from best buy which also gave me a lot of problems and was almost impossible to buy a replacement battery for, why not just use corded u ask? well simply i rent a loft space, and the only real phone plug is downstairs.. so i usually have to keep the phone charged there and then bring it up with me to use..

anyways question is, what cordless phones still in production from your experience has the longest battery life and talk time away from the dock? i really hate all the new stuff out there with things like colored lcd, built in answering machine etc.. i just want a cordless phone that works!!

The pricer Unidens tend to work pretty well... we always used them at work and completely beat on them for years, and they still worked fine. I don't think I can remember ever running out of battery on one, and we used them all day without charging them.

x2. I have found the Uniden to be reliable, robust with good battery life.
