hello,

i am wondering how the Corda Move performs with an IEM - especially with Shure SE530 in terms of hiss?

i have a Headphonia and the hiss with my shure se530 is unbearable :/

cheers

do you use it straight from the ipod headphone jack or do you use a lineout-cable?

hiss is a slight issue with the se530,a little attenuation helps and it dont hurt the sound much x2 above

yes, which surprises me because the impedance of the se530 is more than twice as high as the e2c which never struggled with that problem :/

attenuation of what/how?

you can reduce the hiss to nothing by cranking up the volume of your amp, and attenuating it back to bearable levels with the little volume control extension the E500 come with (I think the manual recommends to use it for airplane sound systems).

ah totally forgot about the volume control extension, good point, but doesnt that degrade the quality of the sound quality ?

It doesn't see to affect the SQ to me.

it should, but to be honest I haven't been able to hear it. Mind you, for me it is very hard to do an A/B comparison because the hiss you removed by the volume control it is a much bigger nuisance than any sound degradation the cruddy little pot in the extension may introduce.
