Does anyone in the United Kingdom own a Corda Move.

I am in the process of ordering one but the fact that it doesn't come with a AC adaptor is slighty off putting.

If any knows where I can purchase a AC adaptor for the Move preferably in the UK that would be great.

something like this would probably work, if it doesn't you can always bring it back for a refund within 14 days

Well, you want one that's regulated and linear, and there's nothing there that says the Argos one is either (nothing to say that it's not, but you want to be sure). Also seven volts is not a great deal; the closer you get to the maximum of 12 volts, the more power the amp has to play with.

Right, amps usually have a circuit in them that favors the higher voltage. If you have a 9v battery installed and plug in a 7v external, it may just drain the 9v battery anyway.

I got a Corda Move a couple of days ago, and i'm using a DC adaptor i got from Maplin. It's this one, and it works fine. What are you planning on using the amplifier with? If you're using it with a computer, you'll probably fine USB port will provide enough power.

Hi Mansize_tissue, good to see you are in the UK and found a a AC adaptor that works well with the Move, I have a maplins very close to me.

I want the Move mostly to use with my computer and hopefully the Move will be able to drive my HD650 well enough.

Thank-you again I am now going to finalise my purchse of the Move with Jan now.

How long did the Move take to get to you Mansize_tissue out of curiosity.

I have a Maplin store, well 2 actually, here in Norwich so getting that power supply was very convenient. I ordered the Move from Jan last Monday, and it arrived on Saturday.

Yes, it's very easy to use. I mean, you just plug it in and you're ready to go. The sound quality is excellent; the improvement with the Move's internal DAC over my laptop's onboard sound was simply amazing. What amplifier did you have before?

I used to have the C&C BOX+, it was a very small and excellent sounding little amp.

Just another quick question, how do you power the Move on the go, do you use disposable batteries or do you use a rechargable type.

I ordered a package of 6 lithium "Ultralife" cells from an ebay seller. They last probably about 80 hours each. They are a tight fit, but still work just fine. I usually keep it plugged in via AC adapter whenever I am not using it portably. As long as 12 VDC is fed into the Move, it will not deplete the internal battery.

I have just returned from maplins with the DC adaptor that you recommended

JC92A 12Vdc 500mA 6.0VA 104 x 61 x 57.6mm (please god I got the correct one)

The DC adaptor is nearly as big as a house brick!!

It came with six differnet size fittings, not sure which one fits as I haven't got my Corda Move yet.

All I need now is a pair of sennheiser hd650, this is a seriously expensive hobby I have got into.

Thanks again Mansize_tissue

Yep, that's the right one. You're right, it is an expensive hobby. I came here looking to spend about £60 for some 'phones for gaming and light music listening, and i've spent £240 already!

Without opening my box and looking at the different fittings, i think it's the smallest hollow one which you need to use.

Have fun with your new gear!

This is what I have purchsed due to this website

4Gb 2nd gen nano £120
ALO Bling Bling Dock £35
Corda Move £135
C&C Box+ Portable Amp £55
Sennheiser HD650 best price I have seen so far is £169-99 from Amazon(still need to get these to finish my crazy spending spree)

That adds up to the princely sum of £514.99

I only came here to get some advice on a Mp3 player!!
