anyone know what to do with a 10 ft. cord?
im planning on getting HD201's but they have a 10 ft. cord and i dont need it to be that long.
dont think i could recable it either, not good at that stuff.
any ways to manage with it while im on-the-go?

When you said "10ft cord" I knew just what you were talking about. One thing I did with the 10ft cable on my HD600s was to stand up after first stepping on the cable hanging all the way down to the floor.

Then I wrapped the cable around everything I could find on my computer desk to take up some slack.

On the go? I haven't tried it yet; but I suppose there's enough cable there to tie it a few times around your waist and use it as a belt! Otherwise; yup, that sure is a loooong sucker; ain't it?

Just kidding of course. But it can be a problem.

....and I did step on it and unplug it from the cans quite unexpectedly at that! True story!

I just looped up the excess like one would loop up a stray piece of rope at about waist height, held the loop with 3-4 zip ties and just latched the loop to my pants with a small, caribiner.

The turtle cable is the way to go. They are lightweight. Rubber bands and zip ties are an option I guess. The turtle cables are extremely light and are hardly a hindrance. If you are using it on the go, you probably need an amp with a carrying case as well so just stash it in there.

Its not like you have a lot of options here, its either you get something like a cable turtle, or you go for a recable. If a recable is too daunting, just cut the existing cord to the desired length and solder on a new plug.
