As you can see below I have a 5G Ipod & a pair of 5Pros. Although I love the sound of the 5Pros there seems to be something missing, can't quite put my finger on it, it's like someone has disconnected my foot from my ears. It's really hard to discribe but that's the best I can do, hope you understand what I mean.

Love the sound of classical, but rock; jazz and any funk I play just doesn't get me goin'. It could be that I'm new to the world of listening to music through headphones, never really done it before - had/have a pair of Senn' HD490s but didn't really get on with them, always prefered to listen to my music through my Linn speakers, Audiolab 8000 amp and several different CD players.

I am thinking of upgrading my ears to some Triple Fis at a later date, but for now I am thinking of getting an amp, either the RSA Tomahawk or the Hornet - love the look of both - and looks do matter

Now what I need to know in layman's terms is. . .

1) What would I get out of these two amps with my 5Pros? Would prefer the Tomahawk as it's smaller & uses AAA batteries which if I'm right also power the amp longer. Don't really need the amp for at home, but may in future change my mind.

2) Would I be better of upgrading the ears first?

3) Does plugging into the line out of the Ipod bypass the equalizer? I know it bypasses the amp.

4) Would I be better off with a different player such as a 2nd gen' Nano?

Sorry if I'm not making much sense, but the music isn't quite there.

More time folks.
