Since I'm going to be giving the new Zune HD a try I need to move all of my songs from iTunes to WMP. All of my music files are either Apple lossless or 256 mp4.

I want to keep the quality of the lossless in tact but convert it to work in WMP. I also do not want duplicate files clogging up my hard drive.

So whats the easiest way to do this?

I have the same problem. Been using iPods for the last few years and decided to try the Zune HD.

The Zune HD can play mp4 files. For the Apple Lossless files, use DB Poweramp to convert to WMA Lossless as suggested by the above post.

Since Apple Lossless and AAC uses the same extension (.mp4), you will have to see which ones are Apple Lossless and which are MP4 (you don't want to convert those to WMA Lossless). In iTunes, right click View --> View Options, and then click Bit Rate. Anything above 320kbps are Apple Lossless. Finally, use DB Poweramp to batch convert those to WMA Lossless.
