I have a a Audigy 2 ZS sound card, In which I mostly use for listening and music and occasionally playing a game or two.

I then just changed by keyboard to one in which does not have any multimedia and sound controls as my older MS keyboard used to have on its top face.

having to always control the sound, via the operating system is sometimes difficult depending on what im doing and sometimes I don't want to have to minimize a game or a movie to quickly mute the it.

Is there something I can buy, make, or use to allow me to easily mute and change volume quickly, hopefully via external hardware.

I have the headphones below and dont really want to lose quality.

You could also go for a cheap amp.

x2

If you don't have an amp now, this would be a good time to get one!

get a Griffin Powermate. it would be the perfect solution for you. of course if you are planning to get an amp, that would be just as good.

well the Griffin Powermate looks great, but its $40.

What would be a good amp, i honestly don't want to spend alot, but I also don't want crap, Or if I plan on getting a amp, would it be better to get a new soundcard, ya know like the X-fi that has the drive bay with remote , like this
