Hello All.

I think I need to upgrade my monitor for the ongoing work-from-home world in which I currently find myself. I have some specific criteria to satisfy, but really do not have a way to go look at monitors in any useful way these days....

I currently have an HP 2310M, which is still working. I do not game, don;t watch movies on it, but do Youtube, along with work stuff, word, order entry system, email, and web browsing. I am older, and wear no-line bifocals, so I am looking for something a little bigger, but sharper for text clarity etc... Not afraid to spend a bit of $$, but not sure where the sweet-spot is, price-wise.

I can fit up to about a 27" screen. I use the graphics integrated on my Z170-A, 32G, i5 Asus mobo, running Wind10.

I've been told to stick with Acer, Asus, LG, Samsung, and Dell, but am not wedded to those brands....

Help!!

Bestbuy has an HP 27F 27" computer monitor on sale for $140
Costco has a LG 27GL63T monitor for $180
Microcenter has an Asus 27" on sale for $150.
These max out at 1920X1080 resolution, very decent for the price.
At around $300 you can get 2560X1440, slightly clear text.
At around $350+ you can get 3840X2160, your getting 4K resolution.

It really depend on if you want 1080p or 1440p .. 1440p you get more pixels so better image quality but I don't know if your integrated graphics could handle it, even for simple stuff like browsing/videos

I would also highly reccomend to buy from Amazon, they have a good return policy and deliver to your door, also fast prime shipping (if you have), no need to get out of the house. 1080p is probably the best option for you, here is a good one I found:

https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-proprie...mzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0

It got IPS so you get nice image quality for your videos, 1080p at 24" is still decently sharp and your integrated graphics should have no trouble running it (same resolution as your hp), also this 'eyecare' technology which is basically just auto brightness like on your smartphone. For $150 you can't really ask for much more.

If you want 1440p:

https://www.amazon.com/LG-24QP500-B...fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0&th=1

Nice monitor, you can get 1440p at 24" so very sharp text and image. IPS as well so you get nice image quality. If your integrated graphics can handle it then for extra $50 it's worth it for the resolution alone.

Forgot to update this -- I ended up buying and returning a Dell 32 or 34" (can't rememebr which - good monitor, but not quite big enough (my work PC has an older aspect ration, which is like the proverbial square peg in the rectangualr hole of split-screening...

Ended up with a mildly curved LG 38", and a hand-me-down MSI video card, which does the highest res. i need at the pixel density my screen can achieve.

Happy Happy
