Morning All

What is the best way to clean a LCD display?

I assume that there is no need to use expensive wipes - would a silicon based polish and a soft cloth work well?

Many thanks.

I second the microfibre method. Nothing else seems to come close. Make sure it is has just been through the washing machine as those things can pick up scratchy dust

do not use rubbing alcohol, because sometimes rubbing alcohol tend to harm the screen in the long run, just use water and a microfibre cloth. also, do not use tissue, since they contain small wood particles that may scratch the screen in the long run.

I use Monster Screen Cleaner. It's expensive ($20) but you get a HUGE bottle. Doesn't contain alcohols that may damage antiglare coatings. And it's got a gel like consistency which doesn't run so it's good for cleaning your big screen TV's also.

Monster stuff is overpriced, but this is actually a product worth buying

Otherwise, I'd just use water and a microfibre cloth.

Rubbing alcohol is a definitely a no-no. We ruined quite a few monitors (various kinds) over the years in our labs because of rubbing alcohol.

Very soft damp cloth seems to be the way ahead thanks.

Monster Screen Clean FTW. I have used it with great results in my store and at home.

Water here too, on a very slightly damp freshly laundered microfibre cloth. The secret is the microfibre, picks up dust in its structure and through static and will not scratch the screen. When the screen is only dusty, not dirty, use the microfibre dry

I've used KlearScreen products for years without any problems.
