Hello everyone! I searched over the Internet for the past few days, and I decided to buy the Cowon Iaudio 9 player, and the Ultrasone Hfi-680.

Searching and searching again, reading lots of mathematical equations, and I cannot find the answer for my question: Does the Iaudio 9 delivers the needed power for those headphones to sound decently?

If not, would the Ultrasone Hfi-580 be better for a portable player like Iaudio 9?

I was scared about some reviews about 580, that said something about overpowered bass, and not as much clarity on the other frequency, so I decided to buy the better-reviewed, but higher impedance, Hfi-680.

So, can Iaudio 9 deliver enough power to run the 680s?

Thank you very much, and have a nice day.

Victor.

The i9 has more than enough power to drive the 680s since they have an impedance of 75 Ohms, which is not very high. The i9 is a relatively powerful DAP and is capable of driving headphones with an impedance of 250 Ohm.

HFI series are not hard to drive, you should be fine.
