Hey dear people of Head-Fi,
I just stumped while i was surfing at Headroom.com at this headphones AKG K 26 P
Headroom says its a good Headphone, and its closed, and its folding, but its a bit cheap for me too be as good as they say.
All this makes it Ideal for a portable and traveling Headphone, plus its 32 Ohams which is good.
Does anyone here has experience with this AKG ? i will be glad to know what they worth.
Thank you and have a nice day.

I'm currently looking at these cans for portable use. You can find a frequency response plot in a thread not too long ago, search should turn it up (along with some user comments). The midrange is a bit uneven, but then this is even worse on the HD202...

Hello,

I'm a newbie so don't shoot me. I have both the px100 and k26p. I got both because of specific reasons.

When i work indoors at school ( or in bed ), i like to listen to classical music. So i use the px100.

When i'm on the move ( train/bus ), i like to listen pop/rock music. So i use the k26p. The akgs have more bass so the bass is not lost from the street sounds. I compared it to the px200 and the akg had a better seal ( my ears are pretty big ).

For my needs ( portable cans - non-in-ear ), i think these suit me fine. Of course you can't compare to the non-portable ones. I think these are the most bang for the buck.

The K26P are great, do a search to read more of my thoughts on this as there have been a few threads on these already.

As for them being too cheap to sound good... I'm listening to my new Sennheiser HD201's directly out of my AV710 sound card and it actually doesnt sound all that bad. You don't _need_ to spend $200 to get good sound. That said, my E4's which also recently arrived are definately better than the Senns in many ways.
