Has anyone, other than Hirsch, used the Sony DVP-9000ES? My parents are considering a source upgrade from an old Adcom GCD-575 (circa 1991), and the Sony has some very attractive features. The problem with the current setup is that it is a little bright, would the Sony increase the high end fatigue? Is the Sony a bright redbook player (keep in mind I am coming from an early nineties cd player)? Would it be better to look for a Rega Planet or an older Naim cdp such as the CD3? Would the Sony out perform a Music Hall CD-25 on redbook? Please feel free to add any thoughts or comments (relative to the topic of course, you dirty thread crappers).
