OK, I have decided to embark on another project

I have ordered (or already have) the following, which I will compare:
  1. Equation RP21
  2. AT ES7
  3. Denon D1000
  4. Koss MV1
  5. Senn HD280
  6. AKG K81DJ

Am I missing anything obvious?

I love the DT770 of course, but it really isn't sub $150. And I really like the HD25-1, but that really isn't sub $150, either.

The AT700's are in the price range, but I was more intrigued by the AT ES7.

That's all good. It's your review.

I'm anxious to read it, as it covers 2 FOTMs and my current travelling can the K81DJ.

I'm not sure what the pricing criteria was, the DT770 goes for < $150 on e-bay, give or take...but if you include e-bay then you can throw the AKG K271S on there as well.

Would the ANC7 be considered < $150? They were a few months ago, and I currently have 2 on back order < $150 from jr.com....which may or may not be fulfilled. A head to head may be intriguing.

Hmmmm...THAT's intriguing...

I can obviously comment on the cans at issue versus DT770's and HD25-1's, since I own both already

Hmm, Alienware has headphones, eh? I wonder who makes them. They look kind of koss-ish.

Edit: I think they are Ultrasone HFI line. It looks like the DJ1. For the price, that's a steal, IMO. I'm tempted to pick one up.

If they are available to you please include the Panasonic RP-HTX7. I picked up a pair today and I really like them. It may be fun to include a quality cheaper option in the review to see how the options for poorer head-fiers stack up.

I think we got a handful of reviews and posts about the ES7s already...rarely do you see A700 owners/past owners posting nowadays. It's more intriguing since it's in the middle of the 500 and the 900 series, which people dub it has a little bit of the 500 and the 900 or some people prefer the 700s than the 900s, etc.

A700.
