Hey all! Looking for a set of new in-ear phones or possibly over-ear headphones. I've owned and used Sony MDR-EX51's and Sennheiser CX-300's. Looking for something with some better quality. Also, I've started getting annoyed by the noise I can hear from the cord on the Sennheisers.

I mainly listen to Rock, occasionally I'll listen to classical as well. Bands such as Thrice, Funeral for a Friend, Story of the Year, Diecast, etc.

My budget is about $150-200. Hopefully more around 150, but I'm willing to go up to 200, possibly a little more depending how much better I can get, and bang for the buck. I've been looking at UE Super.Fi 3 Studio's, and Super.Fi 5 Pro's/EB; Ety ER-6i's, perhaps ER-4p; and Shure's. Any recommendations you all could give me?

Oh, and if I forgot anything that might help you help me, let me know. Thanks in advance!

You might look at the Goldring DR150s. They're comfortable, circumaural headphones that are good with rock. They've got a forward presentation, and a really satisfying, tight bass response. They're ~$150.

Hmm, where can I find those? Are those comparable to the Grado SR225's that I've heard good things about?

I'm really leaning towards the IEM's because I'll mostly be using these with my iPod (nano, 2nd gen) while I'm not home. The circumaural headphones would be a little more ideal at home I would think. Anyone else?

Etymotic ER-4Ps, Sennheiser HD595s, or Grado SR225s.
