Comfort is very important, which is why I'm skeptical of going for the Koss KCS75. I read the big gaming recommendation thread but there weren't a lot of really cheap headphones. I'm willing to sacrifice some sound quality for comfort, prefer around ear big comfy headphones, and I just need decent balanced sound, directional, soundstage. Usually big headphones that fit around the entire ear are most comfortable to me. I heard open is better than closed for gaming but don't really know if that makes a difference for me.

Superlux HD662 - closed back, quite high clamping force.
Superlux HD681 - semi open back, very comfortable, slightly less bass than HD662, and a bit more treble.

The open vs closed argument on 'better for gaming' really depends on your needs.

Closed headphones will give better isolation which improves immersion and helps you hear fine quiet details.
Closed headphones often give more impressive sub-bass rumble which can improve immersion/fun.

Open headphones will give better overall sound quality, but what's the point if you can still hear your PC fans humming and every keyboard and mouse click?

But sound becomes a more passive experience with gaming, since your visuals take up most of your attention, so that should also be taken into consideration.

I should've mentioned that I actually had a pair of Superlux 681s and they were built so crappy they broke very quickly. I wasn't careless with them either. Not sure how it happened, but they were very cheap plastic. I also got a buzzing in one headphone before that. They probably lasted a few weeks, so I'm done with that brand.

Can't really think of anything else I'd want to recommend, other than the Kingston Hyperx Cloud.. but that's out of budget.

Yeah I was thinking of the Kingston. I might just grab one. I just broke my budget building a new PC so that's why I'm trying to save where ever I can on headphones lol.

The other option I'm considering is just buying the Koss KCS75. Maybe I'll find it comortable enough, and if not I'm only out 15 bucks.

Two other options I'm looking at are Sennheiser HD 201s or JVC HAS 400s. Both seem to be good for the price, but I wonder which is more comfortable for long periods? It always seems like there's mixed opinions on comfort.
