So upset the Illini blew that game to Iowa, figures that we'd get knocked out of the Top 25 as soon as we get in. Ah well, so much talent yet so little experience.

Good for Kentucky. Another tough one next week w/Florida. Working at the VA across the street from KU stadium. Folk will be in a good mood this week.

Part of me wants to say Oregon State did it, but it really was Oregon...that hit they delivered on QB Nate Longshore knee was the revenge for that hit that knocked the ball out of bounds at the 1.5 footmark.... It necessarily wasn't riley's fault that cal lacked depth, but it was rather unfortunate to everyone involved that cal had to start a qb with no starts or completions in his career.

I'm not sure who stands at a better position in the pac-10 right now. While John David Booty's finger was broken, USC still had an experienced and very capable qb backup who could salvage the season. Cal had practically no one there, but cal does stand to gain Nate Longshore back towards the later part of the season... (but it won't be the same season that he left the game at Oregon at)

Interesting that LAST WEEK I said the following:

I predict right now that the BCS title game will be Boston College versus Ohio State. I think the SEC and Pac-10 are good enough conferences that there will not be an undeteated champ, and the ACC and Big 10 (of which I am an alum and fan remember) are not. OSU can go through the big 10 slate undefeated, and I believe BC can as well. I don't think Cal and LSU will be able to.

It seems like I was pretty right on in that prediction for the time being...let's see if it holds up...

Yeah, but I predicted the Bucks had a shot about a month ago (when they weren't even ranked in the top 10, or were at the lower end of the top ten, I don't really remember).

Sam, I feel your pain man. Don't worry, LSU is still the best team in the nation. (imo). Win out, and odds are they should still get to the big game.

Same goes to the Cal fans. It's not over by a lonnnnnnng shot.

Whew, that was some fun stuff yesterday. First, we saw Iowa/Illinois. Next, I saw OU handle Missouri live in color, and then we settled in at the bar for the end of the Cal, Cincy, and Arkansas games. It was thrilling finish after thrilling finish. For dessert, it was time to watch ASU for the first serious time this year. I was impressed.

My little ballot after this week...

1. S. Florida 2.Ohio State 3.Arizona State 4.Kansas 5.Boston College 6.LSU 7.Cal 8.Oklahoma 9.Oregonl 10.S. Carolina

I ranked LSU above the Wildcats because the Tigers still have better wins.

Orcin, that was a hard pill Saturday for your Aggies Saturday. Tech is pretty darned good. They're one dropped pass from being undefeated.

I know things are tough in Aggieland at the moment, But at least you're not a Husker. I'm sorry Huskers, but your team has hit the skids. Check out this video of fans leaving at halftime of the OSU game. There's not even angry. Apathetic might be the more correct term. It's sad to see Huskers that way.

I know, you absolutely did. But I did call that neither LSU or Cal would make it through undefeated, and I bet tOSU and BC are 1-2 in the polls today...

I wouldn't be surprised if South Florida gets a nod at number 2. BC wasn't very impressive yesterday (at least I didn't think so). When do the polls come out?

Polls have been out for a couple hours:

AP
1. Ohio State (50) 7-0 1,599
2. South Florida (11) 6-0 1,503
3. Boston College (1) 7-0 1,448
4. Oklahoma (1) 6-1 1,399
5. LSU (1) 6-1 1,331
6. South Carolina 6-1 1,247
7. Oregon 5-1 1,177
8. Kentucky 6-1 1,098
9. West Virginia 5-1 1,090
10. California 5-1 1,065

Coaches:
1. Ohio State (56) 7-0 1,495
2. Boston College (1) 7-0 1,383
3. South Florida (3) 6-0 1,320
4. Oklahoma 6-1 1,288
5. LSU 6-1 1,173
6. Oregon 5-1 1,077
7. West Virginia 5-1 1,007
8. South Carolina 6-1 997
9. California 5-1 983
9. USC 5-1 983

I think SF should be no. 1. Doesn't matter what I think though. BCS comes out later today. That is what really matters.
